20 year old Australian Paralympic swimmer Katrina Porter from Wesst Coast has gained herself a bronze medal in the Women’s 100m Backstroke (S7) in Rio on day two of the competition.
In the final event of the night, the women’s 4 x 100m 34 points relay team of Annabelle Williams (QLD), Katrina Porter (20) from the West Coast club in WA, 17-year-old Ellie Cole (Vic) and Freney placed a very respectable third. First in a new world record time of 4:26.20 was the team from Great Britain with the USA second in 4:35.61.
The Australian team’s overall medal tally for the Rio 2009 International Paralympic Committee 25m World Championships now sits at an impressive 24 with eight gold, nine silver and seven bronze.
