The FINA ARENA Swimming World Cup finished up in Singapore over the weekend with some fantastic results from WA Swimmers throughout the series.
At the Berlin leg of the FINA ARENA Swimming World Cup, Telstra Dolphins rookie Merindah Dingjan finished second to world champion Sarah Sjostrom from Sweden in the 200m freestyle with a personal best time of 1:54.61. Sally Foster swam a PB to finish eighth in the 50m freestyle with a time of 24.05.
World championship rookie Blair Evans from City of Perth won the women’s 800m freestyle in Singapore with a time of 8:17.21. Evans continued her good form by taking home gold in the 400m freestyle with a time of 4:02.77.
Ayrton Dickey who is also from City of Perth finished in seventh place in the men’s 100m IM final and in the 50m Backstroke Dickey touched the wall in seventh place with a time of 25.09.
The remaining swimmers will fly home today with the majority to compete at the AIS Speedo International on Wednesday in Canberra.
