WA swimming icon Alf Matthews has been nominated as a Referee for the 2008 Beijing Olympics. The only Australian FINA Swimming Referee nominated Alf is almost certain to be packing his suitcase and boarding a plane headed straight for Beijing.

2005 Alcoa Country Championships
The 2005 Alcoa Country Championships were conducted from 21 - 23 January. This year, ASAOC was delighted to welcome new sponsor Alcoa. The meet was the most successful ever with over three hundred swimmers from 35 Country Clubs participating in the three day event.
